Join Paul & Jed from Black Bee Honey at Charles Dowding's garden in Alhampton, near Castle Cary in Somerset, on the afternoon of Friday 22nd July to look inside a beehive and try a variety of British honeys.

Black Bee Honey maintain hives at the beautiful 'No Dig' vegetable gardens of Homeacres, the perfect place for a food trail event. For this session you'll get to put on a beekeeping suit, look inside a working hive and learn about the basics of beekeeping and the life cycle of the fascinating honey bee, while getting to admire Charles' wonderful gardens.

This is a one-off event as part of the Somerset Food Trail, and spaces are limited to only 12 people, so book now to avoid disappointment. The event runs from 2pm - 3.30pm and costs £15pp.

Suits and all equipment are provided. We ask you not to wear open toed sandals shoes and to bring a pair of socks.

N.B. Beekeeping is weather dependent. If it's too cold or wet we won't be able to open the hives.

Paul & Jed are very informative about the bees and hive upkeep. They made the whole time interesting and enjoyable, and with an added bonus of being able to see the great work being done at the no dig garden of Charles Dowding. The difference in the variations and tastes of honey was mind blowing. Great time, well done guys
